How do you Make Homemade Slime?

Making homemade slime is one of those brilliantly simple activities that never seems to go out of style. It's messy, sensory, creative — and best of all, really easy to do with ingredients you probably already have in the cupboard. Whether it's a rainy afternoon or you just need something to keep the kids busy, slime is a great go-to. Once you've got the basic recipe down, you can really start to play around. Think pastel pinks, neon greens, glittery purples - or go big with themed slimes like alien goo, sparkly mermaid gloop from a deep-sea lagoon, or a marbled unicorn mix that looks straight out of a storybook.

It's also a fun and low-cost activity for birthday parties. Kids can make their own slime at the table, and you can even pre-make pots for party bags or put together mini DIY kits as take-home gifts. Slime is a brilliant sensory toy that encourages creativity and hands-on play. It's safe for little hands to help with — just keep in mind that it's not edible, so younger kids should be supervised while making and playing.

This easy slime recipe makes a soft, flexible ball of slime — similar to silly putty in texture. It's smooth, clean to handle, and a great option for younger kids who want mess-free fun (well, mostly!). With just a few basic ingredients, you'll be mixing up colourful, squishy slime in no time. Add glitter, confetti, or food colouring to create your perfect combo — the possibilities are endless. Slime-making is like a mini science experiment at home, and it's a firm favourite with kids. Whether you go for neon green, pastel pink, or rainbow swirls, it's fun to make and offers hours of sensory play.
