Step 1

Push off with one foot and glide slowly down the marked lane to feel the scooter’s movement.

Step 6

Practice stopping at slow speed using your scooter’s brake or by lightly dragging your back foot until you can stop confidently.

Step 7

Place your front foot near the front of the deck and your back foot on the tail to get into the powerslide stance.

Step 8

Roll forward at a slow controlled speed inside your marked lane so you feel comfortable in the stance.

Step 9

Shift your weight backward onto your rear foot while keeping your front foot steady to prepare the slide.

Step 10

Turn your hips slightly toward the rear foot and gently kick the back wheel sideways to start a small controlled skid.

Step 11

Keep your eyes on where you want to stop and keep your arms slightly bent to stay balanced during the skid.

Step 12

Bring your feet back to the center of the deck and ride away smoothly once the skid finishes.

Step 13

Repeat the powerslide a few times increasing speed only a little when you feel confident and always with adult supervision.
