Step 1

Ask an adult to preheat the oven to 350°F 175°C so it will be ready for baking.

Measure 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda and 1/4 teaspoon salt into a small bowl to make the dry mix.

Measure and put 1/2 cup softened butter and 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1/2 cup packed brown sugar into the mixing bowl.

With an adult’s help use oven mitts to remove the hot baking sheet from the oven and place it on a heat safe surface.

Use a spatula to move each cookie onto a wire cooling rack and let them cool for about 10 minutes.
