Help!?

If we can't find enough logs or sheep for a bed, what can we substitute for those materials?

Any log type (oak, birch, spruce) can be punched for the fifteen logs you need to turn into wooden planks and craft a Crafting Table, and if you can't find sheep for the bed's wool look for wool in village or shipwreck chests or trade with villagers.

What should we do if our wooden pickaxe breaks before we've mined twelve cobblestone or we keep getting attacked while mining?

If your wooden pickaxe breaks, immediately craft another at the Crafting Table from planks or quickly upgrade to a stone pickaxe using the cobblestone you've already mined, and stay safe from mobs by keeping your base walls two blocks high and adding torches for lighting while you mine.

How can this session be adapted for different ages or skill levels?

For younger kids reduce goals to about 5–8 logs and 6 cobblestone and have an adult place the Crafting Table and supervise mining, while older kids can increase goals (30 logs, 24+ cobblestone), add stone or iron upgrades, and lead the teamwork challenge with Jr. Mod UnaPooky.

What are simple ways to extend or personalize our finished base after completing the steps and teamwork challenge?

After building your two-block-high base with a bed, chest, and lighting, personalize it by adding labeled chests for storage, a rooftop garden or fenced animal pen, decorative torches or lanterns, and then take screenshots to share what you learned on DIY.org.
