Did you know that when lions roar, it can be heard from up to 5 miles (8 km) away? 📣That's really loud! Lionesses do most of the hunting, while males protect the pride. Lions sleep for about 16 hours a day! 💤They are very lazy during the daylight hours, resting and grooming one another. Lions also have a unique social structure where they greet each other by rubbing and licking, which shows they are friends! Lions are carnivorous, meaning they eat meat! 🍖Their favorite meals include zebras, buffaloes, and wildebeests. Lionesses usually do the hunting as a team, using teamwork to chase and corner their prey. They often hunt at night when it's cooler and easier to move undetected. On average, a lion needs to eat about 10-15 pounds (4.5-7 kg) of meat each day! After a big hunt, they often share their food with other pride members. Sometimes they will even gather around a fresh kill and take turns eating, ensuring everyone gets a chance to feast!

Lions are large and powerful animals. 🦁Adult male lions can weigh between 330 to 550 pounds (150 to 250 kg) and can be up to 10 feet long from nose to tail!
