KEY RETAILERS/WHOLESALERS AND EVENTS
COUNCIL MEMBERS WILL BE EXHIBITING IN MEXICAN TRADE SHOW SOON
In early September (2-4), buyers from Mexico and other Latin American countries will be in Guadalajara, Mexico, attending the big Expo Nacional Ferretera trade show. Now in its 21st year, it will showcase products from more than 2,000 firms in some 500,000 sq. ft. of display space. Attendance is expected to be about 70,000 buyers.
Because it is the largest trade show serving the Latin American community, members of the Worldwide DIY Council strongly support it, either on their own as exhibitors or in the Council’s group pavilion, which is 150 sq. meters and featuring 15 member companies.
Here is a list of known Council members who will be exhibiting there. If you want more information about them, check their listings on this site. If their name is listed in blue, you can click on the name and be taken to a contact page about them and, with another click, to a catalog page on this site or to their home site:
Among the exhibitors are Channellock, Inc.; Chapin Mfg.; DAP; Deft; Bigg Lugg-Unique Tools; Estwing Mfg.; H. D. Hudson; Mundo Sales; OCI Americas; PreVal; Wall Firma and Werner Ladder. Non-member exhibitors include Oatey Co. and Briggs & Stratton. Major distributors and sales agencies also exhibit in this show, and many will feature the products of other Council members.
A few spaces are still available in the Council’s group pavilion at very attractive rates and reasonably-priced hotel rooms near the convention center are still available. Anyone interested in exhibiting in the Council pavilion should immediately contact Don Droesch, Executive Secretary, at ddroesch@cox.net.
AN INVITATION TO EVERY SITE VISITOR
Welcome to our site. Google Analytics tells us that you could be based in any of more than 80 countries whose visitors are coming to see us.
Whether you are a business person seeking information about a specific company or brand name or a consumer wanting to find a particular product or producer, our site is designed to provide you with a lot of information with a minimum of “clicks”.
At the left, the blue buttons will provide you a list of member companies alphabetically by name, as well as by the types of products they make (tools, hardware, etc). If you are from a country other than the U. S., you can look up your country and find out which of our members are already actively supplying retailers and wholesalers where you live. That should be quite helpful to you. We also tell you the languages in which members have packaging or literature to make it easy to get the information you want. Best of all, if a member’s name is in blue, you can click on it and find out all about the company and, with another click, get to a catalog their products or, if you wish, go directly to the company’s own web site. Finally, we’ve got two link pages to further assist you--on for Other DIY Resources and one especially for all the DIY consumers visiting our site.

BUYERS
FROM AROUND THE WORLD MADE THE TRIP TO COLOGNE, GERMANY, FOR THE INTERNATIONAL HARDWARE FAIR AND SPENT LOTS OF TIME VISITING EXHIBITING MEMBERS AND CHECKING OUT NEW ITEMS
Members of the Worldwide DIY Council who exhibited in Cologne Feb. 28-March 3 were delighted with the reception they received from both industrial and retail buyers from around the world.

Although attendance was down from previous years, it was better than many had expected and buyer interest was strong. With business slowly recovering, buyers were looking for new products and they found them in members’ exhibits.
For the first time, the Council had a group pavilion in Hall 4.2, which supplemented the 25-year-old pavilion of the American Hardware Manufacturers Association, where a number of members have been exhibiting. In addition, of course, many members exhibited on their own in several different halls.

Council members worked hard during
the last months of 2009 in developing new products, improving
existing products and developing marketing programs to help their
customers increase sales in 2010. Tough times call
for innovation in products as well as promotions, and Council
members are responding.
Exhibiting members are listed below, so if you did not attend the Fair or did not have a chance to visit them, you can learn about their products and promotions by clicking
on the names of all Council members listed in blue. You will
be taken to their web pages on this site, giving you information
about who they are, where they are located, what they make and
who the international executives are. Another click will
take you to a catalog page showing the kinds of products they
make. You can also be connected to their individual
company web sites with another click, so it will be easy for you
to review their products. The listing below is organized alphabetically by Council member
names.
